This Saturday (25th) we are off on our first walk of 2017! This time we are walking from Frisby-on-the-Wreake to Somerby.
I’m very sad to say that the site got hacked over Christmas so we lost the writeups of the previous walks 🙁 I’ll see if I can recreate them though!
This is the third walk and also the most gruelling so far – we’ll be hiking up the Burrough Hill to visit the Iron Age fort at the top on our way.
We’re driving there with two cars this time because of the poor public transport back from Somerby. If you’re interested in joining and haven’t been in the loop for the organisation please contact me and we can organise where to pick you up on the way!
As usual if you’re interested in supporting us you can donate here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/liedra
We’ll probably be stopping in Ashby Folville at the Carrington Arms pub at around midday for lunch, as the Fox at Thorpe Satchville has closed since the publication of the Leicestershire Round book 🙁
As usual, bring some snacks, drinks, good walking equipment, and a camera. I’ll bring a first aid kit and navigational equipment!
Here’s the route in pictures!
